Programs and Services

Michael’s House offers a variety of programs and services to children who are victims of suspected abuse.  Our goal is to ensure that children and families are not further traumatized as they work through the system.

  • Team Investigations

Our multidisciplinary team facilitates a comprehensive, well defined, coordinated process that not only increases the likelihood of a more successful investigation and prosecution, but also provides a better and less traumatic response to the child victim and their family.

  • Forensic Interviews

A forensic interview is a method for gathering facts from a victim of alleged child abuse while being sensitive to the child’s emotional needs and development level.

  • Medical Services

Located at Dayton Children’s Hospital, CARE (child abuse review and evaluation) Clinic provides medical examinations and follow-up care.

  • Victim Advocacy

Victim support and advocacy are available throughout the investigation and prosecution of cases to limit the secondary trauma during this process.

  • Mental Health Services

Specialized mental health services are available as part of the team response either at Michael’s House or through coordination with other treatment providers in the community.
