Mental Health Services

Our multidisciplinary team response includes access to trauma assessment and specialized trauma focused mental health services for child victims and non-offending family members. Specialized mental health services are available as part of the team response either at Michael’s House or through coordination with other treatment providers in the community.

Children who have experienced abuse may be referred to therapy with one of our mental health specialists. Without intervention, many child victims of abuse will suffer ongoing or long term consequences that could impact them throughout their lives. Therapy is a unique opportunity for a child to meet with a trained professional who can help him or her process the trauma they experienced during abuse. Our process uses evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment that has been proven to be effective in coping with trauma.
